What is MaxMedia

MaxMedia is an all-in-one media toolbox. Image / audio / video compression, image-to-SVG and local speech-to-text run entirely in your browser with zero upload; alongside, cloud AI features — upscale, cutout, erase, posters, text-to-speech and voice cloning — are available, metered by redeem codes with no sign-up. We keep things local whenever possible, and reach for the cloud only when a task truly needs large-model compute.

Technology

MaxMedia is built on top of modern web standards:

• WebCodecs API — native browser video and image codecs
• WebAssembly (WASM) — high-performance algorithms in the browser
• jsquash — efficient image encoding and decoding

Our Philosophy

We default to local-first: modern browsers are powerful enough for compression, transcoding and vectorization, so there's no need to upload your files. We only use the cloud when a task genuinely needs large-model compute (AI cutout, speech synthesis), and we spell out exactly how that data flows in our Privacy Policy. You keep control of your data while still getting the capabilities you need.

Open Source

We plan to gradually open-source our core SDK so others can build local-first media apps. Stay tuned.
